The bagasse packaging and tableware have excellent rigidity and soak-through resistance which will stand up to the rigor of heavy or saucy foods. Made from a by-product of the sugar production, they are compostable in any commercial or municipal compost facility. However, if this is not possible, used products can be put in general waste. The bagasse is made from plants, using lower carbon, renewable materials, and these sustainability benefits still apply no matter what happens to them after use.
